Bergamo Jazz 2024, festival prepares for record-breaking edition with Joe Lovano as artistic director
Bergamo Jazz is preparing for a new record edition. After the success of 2023, with over 6300 attendees and a new record for subscriptions, the most important jazz festival in Italy has announced a < strong>big news for 2024: the new artistic director will be sax legend Joe Lovano!
Lovano's arrival confirms the very high ambitions of the festival, which in recent years has been able to renew itself and attract an increasingly international audience. The American musician, one of the most influential in the contemporary jazz scene, enthusiastically accepted the assignment, declaring that he was honored to contribute to one of the most beautiful festivals in the world.
The theme chosen by Lovano for the 2024 edition of Bergamo Jazz, scheduled from 21 to 24 March, will revolve around new trends and the future of jazz music. A line perfectly in tune with the innovative vocation that Bergamo Jazz has been able to build over time.
The appointment to meet the new artistic director is October 24, 2024 at the Teatro Sociale, when Lovano will perform in concert together with guitarist Jakob Bro.
