Enjoy the sunset along the Venetian Walls, a UNESCO World Heritage Site
Viale delle Mura

Privileged location for romantic walks and spectacular sunsets: Bergamo would not be the same without its monumental city walls, which is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
With its 5 kilometers of path, the Venetian walls of Bergamo are an imposing architectural construction whose construction began in 1561 by the Serenissima Republic of Venice, to protect the city from aggression and sieges. The story, however, was particularly benevolent, as , over the centuries, there was no war event in the city, and it is precisely for this reason that the walls are today perfectly preserved.
Visiting Bergamo cannot be separated from a walk at sunset along its monumental walls: you will be immersed in a riot of colors, and you can savor the sweet emotion of walking gently along a magnificent tree-lined avenue, through panoramic views, surrounded by luxuriant vegetable gardens and gardens.
You can go around all the 4 gates along the perimeter of the walls, from Sant'Agostino to San Giacomo, the most beautiful and panoramic, to Sant'Alessandro and San Lorenzo. On the way, do not miss the opportunity to visit the gunner sites of San Michele and San Giovanni: the benches and the lawn will invite you to stop and enjoy the incomparable view over the whole lower Bergamo.
