There are 263 steps that separate you from the top of the Tower. Reach the top to enjoy the suggestive panorama from the highest terrace in Bergamo!
Built in medieval times for defensive purposes, it takes its name from the Latin word" "ad compitum" ", that means crossroads, as it stood at the point of intersection between the cardo and the decumanus maximum of the ancient Roman city.
Donated to the municipality of Bergamo in 1877, the tower was affected by a series of restoration interventions that respected the perfect masonry technique and skilful construction details, allowing it to maintain its original layout.
From the terrace at the top you can admire a 360 ° view of the city, the plain, the hills and valleys of Bergamo, and on clear days, your gaze will reach as far as Milan and the mountains.
